Kiefer Sutherland has begun his 48-day term at Glendale city jail after pleading no contest to a misdemeanor drunken driving charge.
The "24" star was given the sentence Wednesday and decided to start serving his sentence immediately.
The terms of the plea deal include five years probation, a $510 fine, an 18-month alcohol-education class and weekly alcohol-therapy sessions for six months.
He must serve all 48 days of his sentence.
He'll have the cell to himself, but authorities say Sutherland will be put on work detail, either in the laundry room or kitchen.
