Attorney: Spears Has Paid $1M In Legal Fees

Pop Star Objects To Paying Federline's Attorneys $500K

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Britney Spears' attorney told a Los Angeles court commissioner that the pop star has already spent $1 million on legal fees in her child-custody case and objects to paying $500,000 to ex-husband Kevin Federline's lawyers.

Attorney Stacy Phillips said Monday that Federline's lawyers are only entitled to about $150,000 to $175,000.

She also said Federline has the ability to pay his lawyers on his own.

Federline's attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan said the case is unusually complicated and all the billing is legitimate.

Commissioner Scott Gordon has not yet ruled on the matter and the hearing is now continuing behind closed doors.
