Federal prosecutors want a judge to revoke Joe Francis' bail while he awaits trial on tax evasion charges.
In a brief filed Monday, prosecutors argue Francis has shown a "complete lack of respect" for the court's authority by missing a hearing earlier this month. A judge jailed the "Girls Gone Wild" creator overnight, but later granted his release on house arrest.
The prosecutors argue that Francis mischaracterized the court's action and downplayed his role in missing the hearing by issuing a statement after his release.
Francis' statement said he missed the hearing because he was ill and his brief incarceration resulted from a "miscommunication."
A phone message left for Francis' attorney was not immediately returned Tuesday.
Francis is due back in court Wednesday.
