Bounty Hunter Released On Bail In Honolulu

HONOLULU (AP) ― TV reality star Duane "Dog" Chapman was released from jail Friday on $300,000 bail.

He's facing charges in his 2003 capture of a convicted rapist in Mexico.

Chapman and two co-stars on the popular A&E show "Dog The Bounty Hunter" were freed by a federal magistrate after being locked up for a day and a half.

US Magistrate Judge Barry Kurren says he allowed bail for Chapman, his son Leland Chapman and an associate because he didn't see them as being a flight risk.

The three are required to wear electronic monitoring devices until they return to court for extradition hearings to face trial in Mexico.

Reporters and fans packed the courtroom, and several supporters held signs outside the Honolulu federal courthouse saying, "Let go our hero."
