Doctor Testifies In Ritter's Wrongful Death Case
John Ritter's Family Seeks $67M In Medical Trial
GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) ―
A physician defendant in a lawsuit over John Ritter's death has testified that the actor's aorta appeared normal in a body scan performed two years earlier.
Radiologist Matthew Lotysch was called Wednesday to testify by lawyers for Ritter's widow and children, who are suing Lotysch and a cardiologist for $67 million in Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Ritter died in 2003 from a dissected, or torn, aorta. Lotysch told the jury he felt sorry for Ritter because he had coronary artery disease at a relatively young age but an enlarged aorta was not evident at that time.
