A juror accused of misconduct in the Los Angeles trial of fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander has denied he contacted the defendant's sister before verdicts were reached.
Alvin Dymally testified Friday at a hearing for a new trial that he approached Alexander's sister, Sanjana, in a cafeteria on the day of the verdict and gave her his phone number.
Defense attorneys contend that Dymally contacted Alexander's sister twice during the trial.
Alexander was convicted in November of 14 counts, including forcible rape.
Prosecutors said he lured aspiring models to Los Angeles and sexually assaulted them.
He was an up and coming fashion designer who appeared on television's "America's Top Model."
