You thought it was hot before? Ha! You ain't seen (or felt) nothing yet, this according to the National Weather Service who says this week in Los Angeles and surrounding counties will be unbearable.
Record-shattering, clothes-melting, are-you-sure-the-air-conditioner-is-on-adult-whining hot.
Bust out the ice cubes...and think of a clever way to lay in them.
Saturday the National Weather Service's Los Angeles office put out a special warning: if you haven't gotten it by now...it's going to be roasty-toasty, why-can't-I-walk-around-the-streets-naked hot.
"A strong ridge of high pressure developing over the central Pacific Ocean will build east and strengthen next week," said the Weather Service.
Translation: do you have friends at the beach? You'll want to visit them. A lot.
Okay, in hot layman's terms...you're not going to want to do much but lay around; preferably by a pool ... holding a lemonade ... all the while as you're wondering when you moved to the Equatorial Africa.
The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning in effect from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and an excessive heat watch is in effect from Tuesday through Thursday evening.
Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 102 to 110 degrees in the lower mountains Tuesday afternoon.
More good news. Moist air from Arizona's early monoon season might find its way into San Diego, Riverside and San Bernardino counties which could trigger possible thunder strikes and highs in humidity.
