This summer is heating up, and it's time to cool off so come "Defeat the Heat" with CBS 2 & KCAL 9! Each week we'll provide tips to help you stay safe all summer long. Plus, every weekend beginning July 4th through Labor Day Weekend, CBS 2 and KCAL 9 will feature FREE outdoor events taking place in the Southland that your whole family can enjoy!

**Families may picnic or "tailgate" on the grassy area outside the Rose Bowl – fireworks begin at 9:05pm. Purchased tickets are required for Stadium entry. General admissions are $13 for adults, while children 7 and younger free. Parking is $15.00.
When you play it safe you play it smart! Fireworks can cause blindness, third degree burns, and permanent scarring, so this 4th of July consider leaving firework displays to professionals. (Credit: Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
