Nearly half a million people in the San Fernando Valley go hungry each year. And this year, more people are affected. Seniors on fixed income, out of work construction workers, children out of school for the summer as well as low income families trying to make ends meet. 11th Annual CBS Fireworks FestivalRegistration is now open for the 16th Annual Keep L.A. Running Charity Run/Walk in Playa del Ray. Legendary Kenyan runner Henry Rono, one of the greatest distance runners in track and field history, will be the honorary spokesperson and starter this year. There will be a 5K Run/Walk, 10k Run, Kids Dash, and Coast Fun Bike Cruise to follow. The Run/Walk will take place Sunday, July 12th at 7:30am. Descanso Garden's Twilight Thursday Annual Concert Series is starting up again in La Cañada. Children's entertainer Tim Griffin will be sure to delight all audiences young and old next Thursday with his songs about math, science, history and childhood goofiness. Step out of your car or get off the Metro Gold Line on your way home from work for a one-of-a-kind free concert at the Heritage Square Museum. For the first night of the concert series, on July 16th, Mariachi Divas will be the headline act.
