Get To Know Contest

Ends November 30, 2009

Attention all youths---Enter the Get To Know Contest, which has recently launched in the U.S for the first time, and is currently accepting applications. This is an invitiation for the youth (age 18 and younger) to go outside (or a zoo, aquarium, or museum) to "get to know" their wild neighbors, and then to share their experience with the world by creating an original work of art, photography, or writing and then entering their creation in the contest. Hundreds of thousands of youth have already submitted entries crafted from moments of inspiration spent in nature.  All submissions must be postmarked no later than November 30, 2009. Knotts Annual Celebration Honors Veterans & Active Military

November 1st - 26th

Knott's Berry Farm continues it's tradition of honoring the brave mena dn women who have served in the U.S military, both past and present, with free admission during its 20th annual "Veteran's Tribute." The free-admission offer applies to all U.S veterans and active military personnel and their spouse(or one guest). Up to six additional tickets may be purchases at the ticket booth for only $15 each. Mexico: Festival of Toys

Runs through January 3rd

Learn about the world of Mexican toys as one of the ingenuity and color at the "Mexico: Festival of Toys" at the Discovery Science Center in Santa Ana. This exhibition includes several play stations for children to interact and play with replicas of the toys in the exhibit. This exhibit runs through January 3rd. For information call (714)542-2823.

Foreclosure Prevention Fair

Saturday, November 14th

Homeowners attend this free and confidential "Foreclosure Prevention Fair" at Panorama City High School. Learn about credit recovery, budgeting, loan modification, and more. Home owners are encouraged to take their mortgage statement, last four pay stubs, and monthly budget to benefit from the counseling available. Fair takes place on Saturday, November 14th at 9:00am.
