Orange County Sheriff's deputies nabbed an alleged robbery suspect Wednesday after he led authorities on a high-speed pursuit through Laguna Hills.
Deputies responded to a silent alarm at a Payday Loan Corporation at El Toro and Rockfield in Laguna Hills. When they arrived, authorities encountered an armed suspect with a handgun.
The suspect then held a man hostage, according to authorities.
The suspect traveled at speeds of over 100 miles per hour on surface streets. The suspect also hit one car during the chase, according to Derek Bell who was overhead in News Chopper 2.
The chase finally ended at Lake Forest and Moulton Parkway when the suspect pulled into a parking lot.
Police officers completely surrounded the suspect's car and it appeared that the male hostage got out of the vehicle first.
The suspect then surrendered to authorities.
