A murder charge has been filed against a man who allegedly shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, then led police on a wild freeway chase across three Southern California counties.
Jasper Stallings was charged Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Authorities say the woman was shot to death Wednesday after being forced into a red pickup truck.
Stallings also is charged with carjacking involving the driver of the pickup truck.
Police spotted the truck after the woman was shot and began a pursuit. The chase wound through Los Angeles, Orange and Riverside counties, ending in Corona where Stallings surrendered.
Prosecutors are expected to decide later whether to seek the death penalty.
