Corvette Driver Rams Into Cop Car During PCH Chase

TORRANCE, Calif. (AP) ― Authorities said a woman was hospitalized after crashing her Corvette into a Torrance police car, injuring an officer.

Sgt. Bernard Anderson said it appeared Marianne Greco, 42, of Redondo Beach, deliberately struck the cruiser while being chased by another police car Saturday morning. She could face charges of assault with a deadly weapon against a police officer.

Anderson said Greco was trapped in her car and had to be extracted by paramedics. She was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The officer, whose name has not been released, was treated for minor injuries.
