Police have arrested an armed robbery suspect that led authorities on a high-speed chase through South Los Angeles on Sunday.
The pursuit began in Inglewood at Century Boulevard and Condon Avenue around 3:30 p.m., said Lt. Herb Aguirre of the Inglewood Police Department.
Authorities believe the suspect robbed a self-storage facility in the area, Aguirre said.
As police chased the suspect, he allegedly tossed out a gun and a bag of money out of a burgundy PT Cruiser that had no license plates and authorities believe may have been stolen.
Approximately 80 minutes later, the chase ended in Compton, on Tamarind Avenue and Indigo Street, according to Officer Jose Nunez of the California Highway Patrol.
Local news footage showed police with guns drawn shooing bystanders away before arresting the suspect.
