CAR CHASES: Archive Of Wild Police Pursuits

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Police have arrested the driver of a reportedly stolen Cadillac SUV after a wild chase around the Los Angeles area.

The chase ended after the vehicle was stopped by spike strips and the male driver surrendered.

Police following a signal from a LoJack anti-theft device found the white Escalade Tuesday afternoon, leading to a pursuit on a freeway and then through a maze of narrow streets.

Helicopter news reports showed the car at one point spinning out on the freeway.

The driver then took off again, speeding on local streets, running red lights, driving onto sidewalks and driving against traffic. The Cadillac bumped several other cars but no injuries have been reported.
