2 Arrested After Crashing Car During Police Chase
CARSON, Calif.
Two burglary suspects were arrested Monday after leading police on a pursuit and crashing into another car, police said.
Police officers attempted to stop the suspects at Palm Avenue and California Street in El Segundo about 3:30 a.m., El Segundo police Lt. Carlos Mendoza said.
The suspects took off and drove southbound on the Harbor (110) Freeway, where their vehicle struck another car at Torrance Boulevard about 3:50 a.m., according to Mendoza. One car caught fire after the crash.
The two suspects fled on foot but were quickly detained by police officers.
The incident prompted a brief closure of the northbound Harbor Freeway, California Highway Patrol Officer David Porter said.
