Fundraiser Rezko To Be Released From Jail
CHICAGO (CBS) ―
A federal judge ordered indicted political fund-raiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko freed on $8 million bond Friday.
Rezko, a major fund-raiser for U.S. Sen. Barack Obama and Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich, is charged in a scheme to get kickbacks from firms seeking state business.
U.S. District Judge Amy J. St. Eve issued the bond after Rezko family and friends posted 30 separate pieces of real estate, as well as casht. Rezko's wife, Rita, says she would ensure that he arrived in court
The judge severely limited Rezko's freedom, saying he can only travel between court and his home. Rita Rezko also must turn over her passport.
