Rick Chambers
Award-winning broadcast journalist Rick Chambers joined CBS 2 and KCAL 9 in October 2003.
During his first week with the stations, he reported from the front lines of the Southern California wildfires and since then has continued to cover breaking news stories for CBS 2 and KCAL 9, both in the field and behind the anchor desk.
The recipient of numerous Emmys and other industry honors, Chambers has worked in Southern California for 13 years. He joined KNBC-TV in 1992 as a general assignment reporter and later became a weekend anchor. He then spent three years as a weeknight anchor at KCOP-TV.
Before moving to Los Angeles, Chambers worked for WSVN-TV, the Fox affiliate in Miami, Florida, as a weekend anchor and reporter. Prior to that, he was a weekday anchor and reporter at WAVE-TV, the NBC affiliate in Louisville, Kentucky. He began his television news career at WSIL-TV, the ABC affiliate in Harrisburg, Illinois, where he held a variety of positions, including weekday anchor and producer.
A Chicago native, Chambers earned his bachelor's degree in radio and television from Southern Illinois University.
Chambers is actively involved in numerous community projects and is committed to mentoring aspiring journalists.
He and his family live in the Los Angeles area.
