Gary Miller

Veteran sportscaster Gary Miller joined KCAL 9 in January 2006. He anchors "Sports Central," Southern California's most comprehensive nightly sportscast, on KCAL 9. 

Miller, who has covered every Major League Baseball postseason since 1983, also is the host of KCAL 9's THINK BLUE Los Angeles Dodgers pre-game show.

Prior to joining KCAL, Miller spent 15 years as an anchor, reporter and host for ESPN. In addition to being a member of the Emmy-winning "SportsCenter" team and also anchoring "Baseball Tonight," he hosted ESPN's nightly half-hour interview series "Up Close" and worked as a play-by-play announcer and field reporter for Major League Baseball games. He also did the play-by-play work for the College World Series on ESPN.

Prior to joining ESPN in 1980, Miller was a sports anchor and reporter for CNN from 1982-90. In 1989, he hosted CNN's 18-hour breaking news coverage of the San Francisco Bay Area earthquake.

A native of Naperville, Illinois, Miller graduated from Southern Illinois University, then began his career in broadcasting as the sports director at WSAV-TV in Savannah, Georgia.

Miller, his wife Lisa Marie, their daughter Calle and son Rigley live in Orange County.
