Erik Oginski
Erik Oginski is the managing editor of
cbs2.com and
kcal9.com. He joined the CBS 2/KCAL 9 news team in December of 2004.
Erik started his career in news when he joined his high school's Broadcast Journalism program. Much has changed since he orchestrated homeroom-period newscasts of the school's announcements and sports highlights, but Erik's goal remains the same -- to inform the masses.
Erik has since taken the craft of journalism to the digital forum, leading a team of Web producers at CBS 2/KCAL 9 News. Here he has worked to exponentially grow the stations' online audiences, as well as bring more original reporting to the Web sites.
Before moving to Los Angeles, Erik managed the Web site of Boston's NBC affiliate, WHDH-TV. During his tenure, Erik covered multiple major news events, such as the September 11 attack on America, the war in Iraq and the 2004 Democratic National Convention.
Erik attended Boston University's College of Communication where he earned a degree in Journalism and a minor in Earth Science.
In his spare time, Erik enjoys photography, motorcycling, hiking and playing his guitar.
Erik lives in Los Angeles' Sherman Oaks neighborhood with his wife, MaryBeth.
