Cater Lee
Cater Lee is an Emmy-award winning news reporter and anchor, with 15 years experience in television news. She is currently a reporter and anchor for CBS2 and KCAL9 News in Los Angeles. You may have also heard Cater anchoring radio newscasts for KFWB News 980.
In just the past few months, Cater has interviewed former President Jimmy Carter, Garth Brooks, and LA Times columnist Steve Lopez for special features on KCAL9 and CBS2. She enjoys lifestyle reporting and especially focusing on stories of interest to Baby Boomers.
Cater garnered her first Emmy Award for a series in Nicaragua, then won a second Emmy for her coverage of the Gulf War in Kuwait. She hosted and produced several primetime specials, including "Sex at 16" and "Leading Ladies" (winning 3 more Emmy awards).
Cater is also the founder and Executive Producer of Turning Point Productions, a company that has produced two long-running series for Lifetime Television ("Who Knows You Best?" and "Head 2 Toe"), a series for HGTV/DIY ("Knit One, Purl Two") and numerous pilots. She hired and managed production staffs of up to 100 people, while developing programming pitches, pilots and shows.
Cater is married to sitcom producer/writer Ric Swartzlander ("Project Gary," "Samantha Who?," "Rodney," "8 Simple Rules for Dating my Teenage Daughter," "Hidden Hills," "Daddio," "Ellen," "Grace Under Fire"). They live with their two daughters in Los Angeles.
