BB9 Blog: The 9 Lives Of James
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
After tonight's episode, I wonder if anyone will do research into whether certain situations can actually cause bi-polar disorder to manifest in people. There is, after all, some pretty decent supportive evidence. The swings in the house up and down, back and forth, hour to hour are so extreme that it's certainly no wonder that during this episode, the majority of the house was brought to tears.
We begin with Natalie and her mission to get rid of James. She's nominated him and Joshuah, but is 100 percent gunning for James.
Natalie: "I will send him not only to Chelsia, but to Matty." (Who's this Matty she's always talking about?)
James seems to be taking his possible ejection pretty well. Very Zen. He's an island in the house, he says. He's lost the woman he loved, Chelsia, the only person he had a connection with, and now he must be alone to fight his battle.
Everyone else, Ryan, Josh, Sharon, Adam, etc. are feeling pretty good about themselves. The whole house wants James gone.
Mothering Sheila, however, just can't stand to see someone suffer. She gives James a pep-talk in the steam room. "You're the biggest threat in this freaking house," she says. Dejected James perks up a little and appreciates her support.
But later, "Mommy Dearest" changes her tune again and tells everyone else in the house how glad she is that James will go. They all hate him and want him gone. The rest of the house is kind of surprised by Sheila's carelessly loud and booming voice, and before they all know it, James, who had been sleeping but was woken up, comes and reveals that he's heard it all.
Sheila maintains that she's glad he heard and that it makes her sick that he's still in the house. James screams in her face that she's a "lying two-faced bitch." He eventually breaks-down and cries in the diary room and says that he hasn't cried since his father died.
What's the deal with Sheila? Why is she still in the house? She doesn't win things, she's whiney and manipulative, and she IS two-faced. She's been called out on that on several occasions. Don't they at least prefer James over her?
The Veto competition is crucial for James. Hearing how everyone wants him gone has given him a new sense of purpose and he's determined to win, despite the pretty bad odds of it being 5 to 1.
Still
guess what? He wins!
Was anyone else happy with this? I was. I always root for the underdog. Even if that underdog changes from week to week.
So, James is obviously thrilled, and does a little dance to prove it. And now we have a complete emotional flip-flop and Josh starts sobbing uncontrollably. He is inconsolable, even with Sharon. They're sure that she'll be put up as a replacement for James, and then Josh will go because "Sharon is a saint."
Eventually, they take it into the kitchen where they cry with Sheila. (I'm thinking crocodile tears for her, natch.) As Sharon blames herself and Sheila tries to comfort her, Joshuah quits moping for a few seconds and realizes that hey wait, maybe it's not fair if he just automatically gets evicted. Sharon is kind of crafty and perhaps more of a threat than he is.
He goes to Natalie's HOH room. She's very upset about James winning the veto. "No birthday present for Matty," she says. But Josh is there to make a deal with her and Ryan, and the three promise two weeks of safety and loyalty, in exchange for Sharon being evicted.
Whew! What an emotional rollercoaster. Well
what do we think? Will Josh pull off the underhanded eviction of his BFF Sharon? How will that make her feel about him in the future if she is sent to the Jury House? When will Natalie get through a day without mentioning Matty? When will the house wake-up and realize that Sheila is a sneak? And, just how many lives DOES James have? Can he take this to the end? You like him,
you tell me!
