BB9 Blog: 27 Letters In The Alphabet
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
Odd that we're several weeks into this season, and it's only now feeling like "Big Brother."
The couples have been disassembled, and now we're seeing these newly single people actually have to PLAY the game. Strategize, back-stab, what have you, and they're all on their own doing it. This will hopefully bring the intrigue level back up to where it should be. I dunno about you guys, but I was getting a little tired of the sheer laziness/lack of game play the couple-dom was creating.
So Ryan has become HOH, after nearly being sent out the door last week. Quite the sweet role-reversal for him. Like I've said though, he's a NICE guy, always so willing to be led around by people (Jen, Allison, etc.) so the question is whether his nominations will cause serious shakeups.
Let's recap what went down tonight:
1. Everyone celebrated being de-coupled.
Adam is psyched to be "away from the ball and chain." (Sheila.)
Matt is thrilled to get some space from Natalie. But something tells me, that's not going to happen. He tells her he will no longer be sleeping with her, and doesn't even want her in the same room. She, once again, translates that into Matt playing hard to get and joking around with her.
Poor, poor deluded Natalie.Matt: "I'm really happy to be a free man, but I might have to play dead to get this girl away from me."
Natalie: "He really means the opposite. It's like reverse psychology. He likes being with me."
2. James and Chelsia try to figure out their feelings for each other.
James: "You're the one thing that helps me go to sleep at night."
Chelsia doesn't want to sleep together anymore, because she thinks it looks bad for game play. But she tells James, of all people she hopes to win, if it's not her, she wants him to.
The two form a "to the end" alliance, but neither seems so sure the other can be trusted. It's sad, because if any other couple has a shot of going all the way, it's these two. Have faith, pinkies!
3.
Ryan, Matt, James and Adam form the "Fellas Alliance."They are aiming to get the "garbage," as Matt calls it, out of the house. That's all the girls and Joshuah.
4. Natalie takes a time-out to read the Bible and notices that where it mentions Joshuah, it talks about evilness coming out of the mouth. She thinks that applies to the non Jericho-battling Joshuah whom she knows, and explains to an attentively wide-eyed (no wait, that's his permanent facial expression) Adam about words coming back to haunt people.
5. Ironically, Joshuah is outside,
praying for forgiveness, guidance, and for help with his diet.
6. She may be an avid reader, but Natalie can't stop showcasing her serious ditziness. She thinks the
alphabet has 27 letters (that's because she counted the "and" in the "and Z" part), and can't accurately count the colors of the toy in the guinea pig cage.
7. The food challenge is another good one. The house-guests slide into a big vat of chocolate (i.e. Willie Wonka's famous river), and must fish for letters to make words of food they want. Matt, James and Adam get stuck with Natalie, who thinks 'Cereal' doesn't have an "A" in it, but still, they win. The other house-guests get slop for the week. Josh isn't happy because slop (which is concentrated carbohydrates) will totally mess with his divine quest for a six-pack.
8. So, perhaps trying to get some cardio in, Joshuah does a
pretty hilarious booty shaking dance around the house by himself.
9. The "Fellas" pow-wow over who is best to put up for nomination. Ryan initially says maybe Sheila and Sharon.
Sheila is kind of dead weight, though, says James, because Sharon is smart and would end up winning/staying. James offers up the idea of Chelsia.
James: "I just want people to know I'm here to play the game. I don't want people to think I'm aligned with Chelsia."
James is smart. He's subtle when he needs to be, but is also deliberate and ballsy with his volunteering the nomination of this girl he claims to care so much about. Perhaps he thinks that by doing so, their uber-secret alliance (that trumps the "Fellas," we think) might be secured. Time will tell if that well-worn trick works.
10. The nominations are cast, and props to Ryan. He puts up Sharon and Chelsia, probably the two strongest, most competitive girls in the house. I would have said Natalie was strongest before the de-coupling, but I think she's going to start weakening as Matt's rejection becomes more and more apparent. Maybe not though; the girl is a serious, possibly insane, optimist.
Either way, Sharon and Chelsia are up, and Ryan notes that these two girls will likely compete ferociously in the Veto Competition.
So who do you think has more of a shot to win it? What do you think of Ryan's game-play as HOH? Will the "Fellas'" plan work to rid the house of the girls and Josh?
Tell me what you're thinking! And, most important,
who do YOU want to return on Wednesday night to (hopefully) mess everything up???
