This season will be different. The twist -- Big Brother goes back to high school. The house is also incredibly green, literally and figuratively.

This season's "Big Brother" (11 if you are keeping score at home) starts this Thursday and the cast and the house will look like no other cast or house before.
More on the house in a minute, but starting with the cast...it became fairly obvious while interviewing the Twelve of Thirteen Houseguests (they are keeping one houseguest completely secret!) that the twist would involve all those high school cliques we know and love (or loathed, if you hated high school).
Allison Grodner, "Big Brother's" executive producer explained it thusly. "We have a cast of people from all the cliques. From the popular kids, to the athletes, a brainiac, a jock, a beauty queen, a teacher," she explains.
Several of the cast (get ready for fights!) have martial arts training. Interesting. Nerds get ready to get picked on. Watch the beauty queen laud her looks over the others. And won't that go over well with the brainiac who's mission is to get revenge on the kids that picked on her in high school!
Hilarity and tension are sure to ensue this season. But while the house might warm up considerably, the housemates will be going green like never before.

Julie Chen Breaks Down BB 11 !
Recycled materials abound throughout the house. There are even two excercise bikes that will help provide the houseguests with light. And, lose a challenge and (horror or horrors!) guests will be forced to take cold showers for an entire week.
As for the "Mystery" houseguest (who will be revealed Tuesday, July 7), speculation is running rampant on the web that last season's Sheila (who recently wrote on a blog that she would be traveling all summer...hmmm) is going back into the house. Other rumors have the unnamed guest as Brian from season 10 or Jessica from season 8.
Try as I did to pry it out of people who work on the show, I couldn't find out WHO the mystery guest is going to be. I CAN tell you one thing! It's not me!
Bring on the slop. Let the games begin...again!
Season 11 starts Thursday, July 9 at 8 p.m. on CBS. "Big Brother" will air Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Diane Henry is now a CBS2.com and KCAL9.com Web producer and interviewer, but longtime BB fans will recall Diane's showmance with ultimate winner Drew in season 5, as well as a turn on Big Brother All-Stars.
