During the live finale broadcast on CBS, America voted and chose "Crazy" James, the free-spirited, pink mohawk-sporting openly-acknowledged bisexual as their favorite player and he won $25,000 for his efforts.
Backstage enjoying all the action were many former houseguests including (from season 8, Evel Dick, Daniele, "America's Player" Eric [sans Jessica], Amber and Kail), season 4 and All-Star Erika Landin (with hunky fiance Adam from "Survivor"), season 6 and All-Star Janelle Pierzina, season 2's Bunky Miller who was reporting for one of the "BB" fan sites. Also, gracing the reportorial ranks: Gretchen Massey for CBS' "House Calls."
For the record the final vote of the jury was as follows: Matt, Natalie, Sharon, Sheila, James and Chelsia all voted for Adam to win. The lone vote for Ryan was cast by Joshuah.
It was, as can be expected on "Big Brother" a season rife with unexpected twists, turns and backstabbing.
Unlike previous seasons when the entire cast gathers at finale time and puts bygones aside, the backyard was rife with tension. Parker went off discussing his feelings for Sheila. Chelsia said derogatory things about Natalie. And Ryan made it clear that there is no love lost between him and Parker.
And Joshuah, the outspoken gay guy who many viewers felt crossed several lines (including mocking Amanda and making fun of her dad's suicide) was feeling the emnity of Amanda and Allison. Matt, the roofer from Boston who was coasting along until a lie to James cost him big time, basically admitted "all" the women in the house hated him.
Well, all except Natalie, who he shared with CBS2.com wrote him a 6-page letter (6 pages??) while in the jury house expressing her feelings for him. "She will be my friend for life," he said, "but soulmate? Nah! Not me."
CBS2.com spoke with the entire cast (save for Neil who was a finale no-show) and asked them the kinds of things the fans wanted to know: Did James know the gay porn video would come to light? Did Chelsia know about it?
And there's more. What will Adam do with the money? Did Ryan have the win in the bag until he blew it was awful answers in the final roundtable (we say yes!) Will Amanda ever forgive Joshuah? Are Parker and Amanda having a thing? Is Natalie over Matt? Will Sheila hook up with Alex? And are Jacob and Sharon, those wacky kids who have been together for 12 years (years!) going to make a go of it.
Ah, and we even got a sneak peek into the creative mind of executive producer Allison Grodner about "Big Brother 10" and the decision behind some of the casting of the out-there season 9 cast!
